Road House Changed 1 Key Detail Of Dalton’s Backstory, And He Makes So Much More Sense

Doug Liman’s Road House makes several crucial changes to the original characters and story, but one important introduction significantly improves Dalton’s background. Variously played by Patrick Swayze in the 1989 version and Jake Gyllenhaal in the reboot, Dalton is portrayed as a charismatic, eccentric enforcer, who is just as likely to charm a bar patron as knock them unconscious. However, while both versions are relatively consistent between the two movies, a major change makes the 2024 Road House‘s interpretation much more believable.
