Inside The Deku Tree In Zelda: TOTK Is Worse Than It Was 25 Years Ago

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom contains a Deku Tree sequence similar to the one in Ocarina of Time, but the former outshines the latter by a long shot still. Almost 25 years ago, OOT‘s revolutionary dungeon exploration and 3D combat single-handedly created the blueprint for future Zelda games (and the action-adventure game genre as a whole). As it turns out, Ocarina of Time still holds up even now as the kingpin of the beloved fantasy franchise, with the Deku Tree in OOT still having a significant advantage over Tears of the Kingdom‘s.

Just like in Ocarina of Time, Link will need to cure the Deku Tree in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – but the experience may not be quite as exciting.
